Deep Roots Harvest is ready to open its doors after receiving final approval from Nevada’s Department of Taxation.
West Wendover Mayor Daniel Corona told FOX 13 he has welcomed Deep Roots to the community, predicting an economic boom for the area.
Being the first dispensary to open in West Wendover also makes Deep Roots Harvest the closest marijuana dispensary to Utah — just 90 minutes west — but don’t be tempted to bring your purchases back across the border. It’s illegal to transport marijuana across state lines, and recreational cannabis use is still illegal in Utah.
The Utah Highway Patrol told FOX 13 it doesn’t plan to implement any special enforcement along Interstate 80, but it will be monitoring drivers for signs of impairment, as it does with alcohol.
