『Dead by Daylight』は、非対称マルチプレイ対戦ホラーゲーム。プレイヤーは殺戮場からの脱出を試みる4人の生存者と、それを阻止する1人の殺人鬼に分かれ、お互いの行動を読み合いながら生死をかけた鬼ごっこを繰り広げていく。生存者たちは発電機を5台修理し、脱出ゲートの開放を目指す一方で、殺人鬼は謎の存在であるエンティティに生存者を生贄として捧げることを目的とする。それぞれの能力を強化する「パーク」を組み合わせて装備し、それに応じたさまざまな戦略を立てることが重要だ。両者の立ち回りによってドラマが生まれることもあり、ゲーム実況での人気も高い。
同作はPC（Steam）/PS4/PS5/ Nintendo Switch（海外向けにはXbox Oneもあり）とさまざまなプラットフォームで配信されており、今回Epic Gamesストア版が追加されたかたちだ。また、クロスプレイとクロスプログレッションに対応しているため、他プラットフォームユーザーとのプレイや、Behaviourアカウントを介してSteam、Stadia間にて進行を共有することもできる。
