Salt Lake City woke to snow, but can expect rain later Saturday - Salt Lake Tribune

What could be a soggy weekend began Friday night and Saturday morning with snow falling in northern Utah’s valleys.

The precipitation began Friday night in places such as the Weber State University football game against the University of Montana. Viewers on ESPN2 watched the Wildcats win 17-10 in a light powder.

More Utahns woke Saturday morning to perhaps 1 inch of snow covering their sidewalks and driveways. The National Weather Service predicted snow late Saturday morning and more precipitation, possibly rain, falling in the afternoon as temperatures reach 40 degrees.

Davis, who got injured in the second quarter, came in for one play in the third quarter and scored the Wildcats' only offensive touchdown.

A 20 percent chance of snow is possible Sunday afternoon, too, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures in northern Utah valleys will reach the upper 30s.

Monday is supposed to be dry and party sunny with high temperatures of about 30 degrees.

Rain is more likely after 11 p.m. with continued chances of it throughout Sunday. Temperatures will reach about 47 degrees.

Monday in St. George is expected to be about the same temperature, according to the National Weather Service, but dry and mostly sunny.
