The police booked the 28-year-old man into the county jail on suspicion of murder, aggravated arson, aggravated burglary and desecration of a human body. This man has not yet been charged with these crimes. FOX 13 is reporting that police believe the man stabbed his grandfather and then set his grandfather’s house on fire.
Police say firefighters responded to the blaze early Friday morning at 719 E. Logan Avenue. They found the front porch in flames and when they went inside, they found the body of John Peel, 74.
